AMY ADAMS may have loved her Seventies-style American
Hustle makeover, but the actress is the first to point out
that maintaining a constant golden tan for her role in the film was
far from easy.
"The upkeep of the self-tan thing was just brutal. There's
something about that that really changed my look," she told us over
the phone from LA yesterday. "How does anyone maintain that?"
The transformations of Adams and her co-stars Jennifer Lawrence,
Christian Bale and Bradley Cooper into their big-haired, bronzed
characters has garnered much attention, with Evelyne Noraz, Lori
McCoy-Bell and Kathrine Gordon awarded the BAFTA for best make-up
and hair for the film earlier this year.
"There was just so much research and hard work that went into it," Adams said. "If I could put the same time and effort in... well it's just incredible."
Now that awards season is over it is onto the next project for Adams, who is currently promoting Eau De Lacoste Sensuelle - the new fragrance of which she is the face.
"It's a new take on the Lacoste playfulness - it takes that feeling into the evening. It's a little bolder, but it still has that simplicity," she said of the scent, which combines Turkish rose, sweet pea and musky amber. "When Lacoste first approached me, I really liked how the brand was based on feeling natural and being an individual. It's not just about having a glamorous lifestyle. Each woman can embrace that idea."
Eau De Lacoste Sensuelle is available nationwide now, priced from £33.
