REVIEW: StarBoy’s ‘Number one lover’ will definitely get stuck on you

Wizkid hasn’t been able to release another album almost three years after his first effort, but the young man definitely knows how to drop addictive singles.
Number One lover’ which features EME Label mate Shaydee, is another example of such tracks, albeit this time around, he steps a bit out of his comfort zone by coming at us with a reggae approach which gives the song a subtle dance-hall feel, reminiscent of Rihanna’s ‘man down’.

Shaydee’s hook on the song is unsurprisingly fluid and easily laid back as you would expect from the EME singer who can’t seem to break away from his R&B niche.
The infectious song is typical Wizkid doing justice to a simple Legendury Beatz production that sees him roll off the words with apparent ease.
While it can’t exactly be called a club banger, it is a sure fan-favorite that will definitely get stuck on you. Released as the second single off his forthcoming Starboy album, ‘Number one lover’ succeeds in getting fans warmed up for the extremely anticipated record.
